CHILD KNOCKED OVER BY VAN
'.CYCLIST FRACTURES HIS SKULL.
AUCKLAND CITY ACCIDENT.

Fatal injuries were received by’ Robert Johnston, aged nine, .whose parents reside at Point Chevalier, when he was knocked down by a motor van in Point Chevalier Road this morning. The boy, who Suffered concussion .arid a fraeture of a leg,, was taken to the Auckland Hospital, where* he died in the afternoon. - The accident happened at a sharp bend in . the road. The boy, according to. an eye-witness, was bowling a hoop across the road when he was struck by ' the,vehicle. ' y. A. motor-cyclist, Alfred Harriman, • aged 25, of Te Papapa, received fatal injuries when he was thrown froth his machine at Grey Lynn shortly before midday. He received a fracture of the skull and died a few hours later. The motor-cycle was only slightly damaged.
