TE ROTI TENNIS CLUB FORMED.

, At a largo gathering of residents in tho hall it was decided to form a tennis club at Te Roti. Mr. and Mrs. C. Bloor offered the free use of their asphalt court and appreciation of their action was expressed. ,It was decided to have Wednesday afternoons for club days, and one afternoon of each week, has reserved for the school children. Officers were elected ? as. follows:— President, Mrs. 'S. Cleaver; .vice-presi, dents, Mrs. G. Cockerton .and, Mr. F. Bluett, senr.; committee, Mesdanies Bloor, Finch, McAsey, and Grierson' and Messrs Boyje, Hitchcock, Duggan and R. Sharp, senr.; joiftf secretaries and treas-.. urere, Miss V. Grierson and Mr. S. Bloor; drib captain, Mf; L. Hitchcock;vice captain, Mr. Boyle. ’ Tlfo' opening day wks held under ideal conditions, there being a large attendance of players. Lunch and. afternoon; tea were provided by the ladies. The Te Roti school children are to have a fancy dress bail for their break-ing-up ceremony. The prizes ate to be presented during tho evening, also the trophies for last year’s calf-rearing. Mrs. Chisnall is at present Indisposed.
