TRIAL MATCH AT WELLINGTON. COUNTRY SIDE HAS UPPER HAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington, Last Night. Honours rested with the Country eleven in the annual cricket triala of strength against the Town eleven today. A weak opening saw three Country wickets fall for 25 runs. Of the opening pair Nasmith scored 11, while Pacey was in an hour for three runs on an excellent wicket. . Cameron and Lowry brightened, the position for the country team. The New Zealand captain hit up 55 in 45 minutes and showed a glimpse of his btfst form. Gallichan 48, Norris 45, O’Brien 35 not out, Cameron 25, and A. Newman 21 all batted brightly, and the innings realised 263. J. Newman bowled well for Town, capturing four wickets for 57 runs in 32 overs 1 . Blundell secured, two for 84 in 25 overs and Crook two for 64 in 20 overs. Warnes took one for 29 and Dempster one for 6. The Town Eleven lost four wicketi for 23 runs, A. Newman taking two wickets for two runs and Reaney two. for 8. Reaney’s wickets were the result of two smart catches in the slips by A Newman.
