The Woodville Jockey Club's summer meeting takes place off* Tuesday and Wednesday, and, with form well exposed at Feilding, the public are looking to get back some of their losses of the previous week. The Woodville track is in splendid order for the meeting, and fields promise to be exceptionally large, while many owners of firstclass horses will run tneni at Woodville in order to ■sharpen them up for ' more important events at the holiday meetings. In the absence of Mr. C. O’Connor, who is Undisposed, Mr. Harold Co'nnop will attend to the starting at Woodville. The popular secretary, Mr. W. A. Lyon, has his'part of -the arrangements right up to the moment. ; Stake-money was well divided ct the Feilding meeting. Mr. W. McA. Duncan topped the list with £385, the result of Ruanui’s Cup win and Furlong’s second in the Nursery Handicap. Mr. K. McK. Duncan followed closely with £3OO, Otairi scoring a first and a second, and Llandudno a first also. Lady Quex’s Feilding Stakes victory was worth £2BO in stakes to Mr.' W. G. Emeny, and Silvermine’s St. Andrew's Handicap win credited Mr. A. Alexander with £2lO. Mr. "W. R. Kemball won £205 through the efforts of Miss Ransom (first), Lady Pam (second), and Sailing > (third). Thirty-eight others participated in the division of the spoil; including. Messrs H. L. Vine- (£2O), W. Pine (£l5), F. and H. J.'Startup (£l5), Hickey Bros. (£l5), and Mrs.- W. D. Graham (£10). Taranaki trainers had a good innings at Feilding, E. George leading.in Lady Quex, J. O’Neill Orapai, J. Brown; Silvermine, and O. Cox Hampden. The only dual winners were L. Knapp (Otairi and Llandudno) and F. C. McKay (Seneschal and Spearform). In order to commemorate his 50 years’ connection with the totalisator at the Rangitikei Racing Club’s meetings, Mr. George Spriggins, Wanganui, has donated a solid silver tea and coffee service and tray as a trophy, which will be attached to the Hack Cup.
