CONCERT AT WAITARA
’ PUPILS OF ST. ’ JOSEPH’S.' ' ‘ ! An enjoyable concert, arranged by the I sisters of St.’Joseph’s Convent,’Waitara, and carried out by the pupils and assist- : i D V artists took place in St. John’s Hall last night. There was a large, and appreciative audience and the performance , bespoke considerable care on the part, of those responsible for the concert and ■ decided ability by the performers: A feature of the concert was the cos- ; turning, many of the items being brightened by the ‘varied garb of the dancers and singers.* The programme was afull one it was carried out without a hitch from the time that six children playing in. trios on two pianos opened with a march until the final chorus had been sung. . The items were: Double trio, Hunters March, G. Hamlin, M. Fahy, D. Street, J. Halpin, F. Chittenden, B. Dombroski; chorus, “The Swallows,” pupils; recitation “Cows,” Max Antunovic; vocal solo,’ “Softly Awakes My Heart,” Miss H Grant; dance, “Rainbow,” Misses Carrington, Barry, Leach, Dombroski, Cole and McGregor; action, song, “Tin Can Band,” junior boys; piano solo, “Hexentons,” Miss K. Hynes, L.A.8.; vocal solo “Daddy,” Miss Marie McGregor; action song, “You Mustn’t,” Misses N. Smith, E. Wordsworth; violin solo, Romance” (Wieniawski), Miss Blennerliasset; dance, “Military Dance,” Missees Barry and Carrington; action song, “Dolly,” junior girls; dialogue, “Motor Experiences,” Masters Halpin and Wordsworth; vocal solo, “Caronome,” (“Rigoletto,” Verdi), Miss M. Massey, L.A.8.; dance, “Spring,” Misses Smith and Carrington; double trio, “Mignonne, J. Halpin, M. Fahy, E. Wordsworth G. Hamlin, D. Street and F. Chittenden; recitation, “A Very Naughty Person,” Miss Joan Barry; action song, lhe Dream Man’s Train,” infants; violin solo Miss Blennerhasset; dance, “Carnival of Venice,” Miss R.
