“HEALTH TO NATIVE BORN”
AUSTRALIAN GOVERNOR-GENERAL
AMERICAN NEWSPAPER’S VIEWS.
By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. - ■ New York, Dec. 4. . The New York Times in a leader headed “A. Health to the Native-Born” S t cl tcS • “The appointment of Sir Isaac Isaacs marks the final stage in an old dispute. It. is hard to believe the report that the MacDonald Government remonstrated with Mr. Scullin and wanted to continue with imported.Governor-Generals. It was not that Government’s business. The main argument for an imported Gover-nor-General has been that he is apart from local politics. Whatever that argument is worth it cannot apply to Sir Isaac. If the Australians are satisfied who has any reason to complain? By trial and error Australia will get or not get what she wants. Probably the. next' step of those rude Antipodeans. will be the substitution of domestic for imported Governors of their several States.’
