GARDEN’S PLANE DAMAGED
FLIGHT SOUTHWARDS DELAYED OTAGO CLUB MOTH NOW USED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Dec. 5. The connecting rod of Garden’s machine, the Kia Ora, broke just as he had ascended yesterday from the Tamri aerodrome, releasing the oil supply. The plane hardly cleared the fence apd, at 200 ft., flattened out. Garden Banked sharply, making a skilful landing. The mishap delayed his flight to .Invercargill for two hours and he eventually took off in the Otago Aeroplane Club’s Moth.
