IMPRISONED IN COAL MINE

Miners clearing deep galleries m the Castrophau Zel mine at Cologne on Monday following a fall, of coal on Friday heard tapping from Fritz Wienthal, prev iously supposed to be killed. A tube was forced through the.coal, and Wienthal, who is reported to be imprisoned ip a small hollow space, was supplied with liquid food and fresh air. Four shifts of rescuers are * working continuously, but are unlikely to effect a rescue until Friday. - Wienthal, although in danger from a fresh fall of coal at any moment, is cheerful and cracks jokes with his comrades.’
