Following the arrest in Paris .oft October 10 of two men wjio had beeii to prison for various frauds, it was revealed that the Jx-Sultan of Mortaco, Malay Hafid, who now resides at foOfoT s.Gus-Montmotency, near Pans, recently discovered that one of fos /notor-cate had been pawned. He agreed to buy it for £lOO and, having signed a promissorynote foi this amount, drove off with it io the nearest branch of the municipal pawnshops and pawned it for a-fraction of its . Sultan lodged a complaint when he discovered that the name and address on the promissory note were false, and
