Leitch, stated after a visit to distillery works-rit Hull. Mr. Leitch said he' Ibarlibd that, quarter of t'he weight of artificial silk stockings consisted of act tic acid and molasses imported from Java. T’he acetic acid is made from alcohol xtririeted from the molasses, and is used to 'break down the fibres Of WoOd into thread for artificial silk, Mr. Leitch suggested that the proI cesses might he appliled to Queensland molasses.
