RECORD FIGURES FOR QUARTER. (British Wireless). Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Dec. 2. The Registrar-General’s quarterly return, issued last night, shows a slightly higher birth rate and a lower death rate than in the corresponding quarter of last year. The most striking figure, however? is that of infant mortality. The infant mortality death rate was 45 per 1000, which is 14 pfer 1000 below the average of the ten preceding quarters and is the lowest ever recorded*
