CAPTURE OF MISSIONARIES
GOVERNMENT TROOPS ON MOVE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 8.30 p.m. Shanghai, Dec. 3. Troops are leaving Paotouchen in an attempt to rescue Mrs, Hayward and Miss Gomersal to-day. Foreign' missionaries captured and unreleased in China now total 24. Government troops fighting the Communists at Honan in an attempt to rescue Mr. Nelson, an American, and Mr, Tvedt, a Swede, were defeated. The emissaries to the Communist camp were not allowed to return.
