| YOUNG MEN CONVERT CARS SENTENCES AT WELLINGTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Dec. 3. Stanley John Preston and James L. J. Tait, both aged 20, were arraigned tq- f day on 13 charges of car conversion between September 29 and November 25.' The cars were taken from parking places in the city aqd driven to various bays about the city. Two of them were damaged. The police said the two men were living a fairly fast life unknown to their parents. They were each fined £2O and placed on probation for two years and were ordered to each pay half the damages (£8 10s each), all the payments to be, at the rate of 10s a week.

PRESBYTERIAN fIOSE SHOW ' ENTERTAINMENT OF WOEKESQL At a leommittee meeting on Tuesday night a pleasant evening was spent in the Knox Presbyterian Halt The occasion was the wind-up of the recent rose show, £57 being voted to the Knox Church committee. The show committee then entertained the band of volunteer helpers at a social evening. MrDingle, the president, welcomed the guests and thanked them for helping to make the show the outstanding success it was. A musical programme ar- , ranged by Mrs. Lankshear was enjoyed, and supper was served.
