TAKING POLITICAL ACTION. AMELIORATING • CONDITIONS ' At a largely attended meeting of ' members of / the Urenui branch of the Farmers’ Union last night Mr. D.. Le Cren'Morgan, North Taranaki secretary, spoke at length'on' the proposal of the. union to take political action with a view to enabling the farmer the better to cope with the present economic conditions. He read the comprehensive report submitted by Mr. H. E. Blyde (North Taranaki president) at the last meeting of the executive, and outlined the platform ' of the union, . together with various questions to be submitted to. candidates with a. view to ameliorating the conditions of the farmers. ; / The movement; Mr. ’ Morgan stated, would be launched at a rally to be held at Hawera on December 17, and he urged all who could to attend that'rally, also a preliminary .meeting at New Plymouth. ' It was up to the •individual farmer to get behind the movement ■and assist their leadefe to make if a success.
