FUNDS FOR MAORI CHURCH
FUNCTION. AT MOTUROA-. A mart and jumble stall were held at the residence of the Rev. 0. E. Haddon, Mission House, South Road, New Plymouth, yesterday with the object of raising funds for the building of the new Maori church. Stalls did good business with vegetables, cakes and clothing. Afternoon- tea was served. The function"’ ended last night with a lantern lecture on Fiji delivered by the Rev. R. B. Gosnell at the residence of Mr. Jenkins, Moturoa. The lecture was well attended. The proceeds should augment the funds by about £lO.
