FORCED LOANS SUGGESTED
REVENUE SCHEMES IN N.S.W. FORECASTS OF MR. LANG’S POLICY. By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright. Ree. 5.5 p.m. Sydney, Nov 23. Rumour is busy forecasting the State Government’s financial proposals, but whatever the Treasury and Mr. Lang may have in mind remains a well-kept secret. Mr. Lang’s scheme will be submitted to a caucus before the Assembly meets next week. A big increase ixi the salaries tax is regarded as certain. One shilling in the pound is mentioned in place of the present threepence, but one suggested alternative is a levy of two shillings in the pound on all monies in the shape of forced loan bonds bearing interest at a per cent, which will be issued to persons’ and taxed £10,009,000 to £12,000,000 in a year. From this source it is expected material assistance will be obtained in absorbing the unemployed.
