WESTOWN RESIDENTS MEET
WATCHING SUBURB’S INTERESTS. MOVE TO EXTEND ASSOCIATION. A representative meeting in the Westown school, New Plymouth, last night considered the advisability of forming a ratepayers’ association. Mr. W. J. Ewart, one of the convenors, presided and explained the necessity of having an active association to look; after the requirements of tips district. Lengthy discussion regarding the most suitable name followed. As there was already a Westown Progressive Association which was doing good work in the upper end of the suburb, it was decided to ask that association to meet residents from Standish Hill outwards at the school next Thursday with a view to 'forming one large association under the present name to operate for the ; benefit of the whole district.
