UNPLEASANTNESS ENDED
MS. O. MeBRINS’B APPOINTMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The little unpleasantness which has been agitating members of the Auckland Waterside Workers’ Unionmver the nomination of Mr. Oscar Mcßrine, a member of the union, for a seat on the Unemployment Board has apparently been 'brought to a ’ satisfactory end. Officials pf tjie union refuse to make any statement as to the outcome of meetings held this week to hear M r - MeBrine’s explanation as to why he allowed himself to be nominated contrary to the wishes of the union, but it can now be stated fairly definitely that the explanation has been accepted and that it will not be necessary for Mr. Mcßrine to resign his membership of the union. It had been stated in earlier reports of meetings that Mr. Mcßrine was president of the union, but the officials of the pjijpn explain that although he occupied that position previously he has not held the office for some time.
