IMPROVING COLD WEATHER

Wellington, Last Night. The weather will improve gradually in western districts. Temperatures will be cool. The recent depression is passinn- east of New Zealand while a moderate anti-cyclone covers the Tasman Sea, its centre being in the north. There will be south-westerly to. southerly winds, moderate to strong generally and in places reaching gale force. Sca<4 will be rough on the West Coast and off shore north of East Cape and rising south of East Cape. The weather will be unsettled witli further showers in most districts and heavy rain on parts of the East Coast with hail and thunder in places.
