NATIONAL DEFENCE
MEMBERSHIP. OF LEAGUE. Seventeen new members were elected at a meeting of the executive of the New Plymouth - branch of the National Defence League last night. In the *b-, sence of Mr. C. H., Weston Mr. C. H. Burgees presided. The league’s membership campaign and the enrolment of more young men were discussed. It was decided to concentrate upon thia form of activity for' the present. A vacancy on the executive was. caused by Mr. P. G. Budd leaving the district, and the meeting decided to ask Mr. Pat Hawkins to become a member of the executive.
