i! AfPBOINTMENTS IN TARANAKI. • ' ’ The Taranaki Education Board made tha following appointments of teachers yesterday:— Miss - R.. Taylor, assistant, mistress,' Huiroa- Miss M, K. Hewes, assistant mistress, Kaimata; Miss E. V. Jeffries, , assistant mistress. Mimi; Mr. R. C. Adlam, first assistant master, Central; Mr. J. A. Jennings (Compulsory transfer) assistant master, West End; Miss ■E. S.. Giddy, additional assistant, Hawera; Miss M. E. James, Waitui; Mise R. Day, sole teacher, Marco; Miss M. Douglas, exchange teacher from Canada, to Central school for remainder of her stay in Taranaki. The appointment of the head-teacher at Huiroa was left to ! Mr. J. A. Valentine with power to act, and the appointment of a head-teacher at Ngaere was referred to Messrs. Valentine and H. Dempsey. A number of relieving appointments to cover a short period were made by the chairman during the month. The following resignations were received: Miss I. Deare (Central), Miss R. M. Smith (Central), Mrs. Q. O’Keefe (Ngaere), Miss F. M. Roberts (Norfolk), Miss I. L. Mackenzie (Kaimata, and Mr. F. H. Mansell (Patua). The board decided to send a letter of appreciation of her work’to Mrs. Eifler, who had resigned from the position of head teacher at Waitui school owing to ill-health.
