The Archbishop of Rouen, who is Roman Catholic Primate of Normandy, is responsible for a vigorous condemnation of the. masculine type of sports dress attire, which he declares creates a false conception of women’s independence. In trying deliberately to attract men by tawdry make-up.and clinging.clothes revealing the body to a shameful degree of indecency, the Archbishop said today, women were losing all attraction. Men would not look for their wives and mothers of their children among women of this type. Modern women were defeating their own ends by dressing indecently.
