STOCKS OF DAIRY PRODUCE

INCREASED EXPORT OF BUTTER BRITISH MARKET SITUATION In view of the depressed state of the butter and cheese markets at Home more than ordinary interest attaches to the problem of stocks of dairy produce “in sight” at'the present time. October shipments of, butter to Great [Britain from New Zealand, Australia, and the Argentine were nearly 5500 tons in'excess of those of October, 1029, while actual imports into Britain during last month were GB9O torts above those of October, 1929. On the other hand, there were slight decreases in the New Zealand exports and the British imports of cheese last month. According to the report issued yesterday by the Dairy Board, the position of butter and cheese stocks at November 1 compares as follows:—

The figures show an increase of nearly 4500 tons in the butter stocks in Canada at November 1 compared with a year ago, but very little increase in cheese. On the other hand, United States butter stocks are lower by over 12,800 tons, with very little difference in cheese.
