CHASE OVER THE ROOFS
MAN CAPTURED IN STREET. HINDU CHARGED WITH THEFT. By Telegraph.—Pres« Association. Palmerston N., Nov. 17. The sequel to the chase of a young Hindu across roofs “and along a. street yesterday afternoon was the appearance in Court of Chagan Bhara, fruiterer, who was charged with entering by day tho premises of Collinson and Cunningham and stealing goods valued at. £34, also with breaking, and entering by nigh| the premises .of McCaffer and taking a suit of clothes and pair of. trousers valued at £l2 ,10s. Accused was remanded to Friday next. While engaged in the upstairs office of the New Zealand Importing. Company yesterday afternoon, W. 11. Brown noticed a man on th’d roof adjoining the premises and '■ pursued him over the roofs. Although hampered with a heavy travelling trunk-the man proceeded in a daring manner along the parapet and filially dropped to the street, but was chased and captured at the corner of Rangitikei and King Streets.
