CONTROL OF RABBITS
WHANGAMOMONA BOARD. The quarterly meeting of the board of trustees of the Whangambmona rabbit district was held at Whangagmomona yesterday . when there were present Messrs. N. R. Cleland (chairman), B. Newstroski, M. P. Ford and W. Harris. The chairman extended a welcome to Mr. B. Newstroski, who was taking his scat for the first time, having been appointed to succeed Mr. C. J. A. Murphy. The rabbiter (Mr. Kerr) reported that during the past three months he had killed 51 rabbits and had seen four others. Among those . killed were several young ones. Mr. Newstroski stated that he had seen a couple of rabbits on the Whangamomona Road. Mr. W. Harris said that one or two rabbits had been seen at Toko. One had been shot a couple of days after the rabbiter had returned. The opinion was expressed that the rabbits were not gaining to any extent.
