“BANNING” OF SWEEPSTAKES
BRITISH HOME OFFICE’S ACTION. USE OF POST OFFICE PROHIBITED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 13It is stated that the action of the British Home Office in banning the Dublin sweepetake on the Manchwter November Handicap can be regarded as a Teeture only as tickets have been eellintr round the world during the past six months, and the British Government cannot prevent a ©weepstake being promoted by the Irish Free State Government. It can merely ban the sale ot tickets by not allowing the use of the post office in the same manner as the New Zealand Government shows disapproval of sweeps promoted in Tasmania.
