HAWERA GIRLS’ SPORTS

SCHOOL EVENTS IN PROGRESS. WEATHER CAUSES POSTPONEMENT The Hawera High School girls’ sports were commenced yesterday, but owing to steady rain in the afternoon those events still undecided were postponed until today, when if the weather permits, the sports will be concluded. The officials were doubtful early in the day but bright sunshine before inidday decided them to carry on and.the programme was being expeditiously dispatched when rain and a blustering wind caused it to be abandoned about S/SO p.m. Once again the organisation was a feature of the sports. 1 The senior championship is being contested by two girls, V.
