Lord Brotherton, a wealthy Leeds chemical manufacturer, who died last month, left £1,750,000. The duties amount to £BOO,OOO. His bequests include £lOO,OOO to Leeds University. Mr. J. Edwin, who for many years was in the service of the Union Company, commanding many vessels in the fleet, including the Maori, Wahine, Maheno and Tahiti.
