Rec. 9.30 p.m. De^ 11 ’ The police to-day discovered a bomb , factory with 500 bombs, baskets of chemi-.-cals and pistols in the house of Kupurchand Jain in Delhi. Four arrests have been made. The police also found m Jain’s possession a copy of a pledge enjoining members of the conspiracy to shoot none but policemen. Jain also possessed a list of police all over India. ; There were disturbances at Karachi when the police were arresting men picketing liquor shops. The police were stoned, by a crowd of 3000. The police then charged with batons and many rioters were injured. i •‘Gandhi Day” was celebrated to-day. Throughout the city shops were closed and schools picketed. A boy attempting to hoist the Nationalist flag above, the Legislative Council was arrested and the: flag confiscated. The police surrounded a house a mile outside Lahore. Three men ran out firing revolvers. The police retaliated, killing one and injuring another. The man killed has been identified as a student suspected of being concerned in the attempt to, wreck the Viceroy’s' train last year. The police commissioner at Karachi and two sub-inspectors have been warned to leave'the city within a week; otherwise they will be killed by bombs.
