London, Nov, 5. “One of the remaining privileges of a husband, if it can be called a privilege, is that he is responsible for the one thing he .cannot control—his wife’s tongue,” said Mr. Justice Avory, in .giving judgment for £BOO damages in a case in which Mrs. Flanders, a dog breeder, s'ued Sir Charles and Lady Eves for slander and assault. It was alleged that Lady Evos struck and abused plaintiff, complaining of the neglect of three dogs boarded in her kennels during Lady Eyes’ honeymoon. Sir Charles wds jointly sued on the ground of the husband’s responsibility for his wife’s torts.
