VISIT OF THE DUNEPIN

REMAINDER OF PROGRAMME. The march of the ship’s band and -crew of H.M.S. Dunedin through New Plymouth this morning will be watched with interest. They will pass the cenotaph at 10.15 a.m. land will march through Devon Street to Pukekura Park, returning past the post office. Commodore Black, accompanied by the Mayor of New Plymouth, Mr. H. V. S. Griffiths, will take the salute at the steps of the post office. The column will then pass along Devon Street West on the return to the ship. School children will visit the ship this morning,' and from 1.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. the ship will be open to the public. The programme for the rest of the ship’s stay is:— To-morrow.—l.3o p.m., rifle shooting match, Rew’a Rewa range (New Plymouth Rifle Club to make all arrangements); ship open to public, 1.30 p.m. to p.m.; 2.30 p.m-, New Plymouth Rowing Club events at Breakwater; 8 pan., skating carnival at Coronation Hail.

Sunday—l.3o p.m. to 6 p.m., ship open to public; 2.45 p.m., combined recital by ship’s band, Taranaki Regimental Band and New Plymouth Citizens’ Band.

Monday.—2 p.m., Maori War veterans and partially disabled soldiers visit ship; 2.15 p.m., cricket match, ship’s team v. Allcomers (New Plymouth Cricket Club selects team and makes all arrangements); ship open to public 3.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.—3.3o p.m. to 6 p.m., ship open to public; 3 p.m., Soccer football match, ship’s team v. New Plymouth team.

Wednesday.—lo a.m., ship leaves. Officers and men in uniform will be admitted free to all functions set out in this programme. Trams, buses, and municipal salt water baths will be. free to officers and men in uniform. Various clubs have invited the visitors to their institutions. ,

A number of school children and adults yesterday visited the Dunedin. The vessel was thrown open to the general public at 3.30 p.m. A large number of the sailors visited the town, where several entertainments were provided.. A cricket match with a New Plymouth ,B'oy§,’; High School team and a team from the Dunedin was played. In the evening the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club held a sports meeting in Pukekura Park at which a number of sailors were, present.

Three officers were taken by Mr. T. Wilson on a trout fishing trip to Okato. The river was in fresh but the fishermen expressed themselves as pleased with the outing.

A soccer match wil be played on the New Plymouth racecourse on Tuesday between a combined New Plymouth team and H.M.S. Dunedin team which has been very successful this season. The match will start at 3 pan.
