MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE FAILS. ASSAULT UPON YOUNG GIRL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. . The criminal session of the Supreme Court was concluded to-day, when Thomas Evered Steel, charged with manslaughter, was found not guilty, and Henry Samuel Clegg, who had pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting a girl aged about seven years, was ordered to be detained for reformative purposes for two years.
