MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The Moturoa Ratepayers’ and Progressive Association, ' New Plymouth, met last night. Mr. ,R. Glengarry presided over a small attendance. Dealing with domain affairs the meetin.' decided to pry an account for £lO sent by the Borough Council in connection with the work of lowering the entrance crates. Recalling a promise by the Borough Council, Mr. Saunders said temporary repairs had not been carried out in Harbour Street. He thought the district was neglected and he mentioned work needed in Breakwater and other roads.
The chairman said Cr. J. Brown had told him to undertake work on the path in Bayly Road. Others presept considered parts of Bayly Road vJW-death traps. Mr. Honeyfield protested at the action of the council in allowing a permit for a shop suc(i as was being built on the tram route, near Pioneer Road. He described it as a disgrace and not fair to traders -who were prepared to pay for decent buildings.
It was decided to protest to the council that it should not allow the erection of unsightly buildings in ths district. It was further agreed to ask the council to attend to certain streets and paths, including Pioneer Road,
Breakwater Road (where screenings were required) and Bayly Road. Mr. Honeyfield considered good work had been done with the path in Whiteleg Street.
