MONTHLY MEETING OF BOARD. . k The monthly meeting of the Western Park Board was held in New Plymouth last night, there being present Messrs F. Hartnell (chairman), .McPhillips, W. Shepherd, Honeyfield, Elliot, Lobb, Ellis, D. Hull, Deare. Medley and F. J. Hill (acting-secretary). •’ , A small shed will be erected' ror the housing of the mowing machine and roller.

On Mr. McPhillips’ plotion the works committee was recommended that Mr. Smart be asked to cut down the stumps of the trees damaged by him and pay the cost of eighteen pohutukawa trees that the board would plant. A signpost will be erected to direct the traffic along the new roadway up the hill.

The cycle club will be informed that owing to the financial position of the board no work can be undertaken regarding the grassing of the. track.' / ! Correspondence was received from the Borough Council regarding the band programme drawn up for the summer. It was stated that at all those labelled “Park” the whole collection would' be handed to the park in .which the recital was given. The Regimental Band, however, guaranteed £2 2s and the Pipe Band £1 Is irrespective of the state of the weather.

The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman and actingsecretary for the interest taken by them in the work being done in the park.
