INGLEWOOD DEFEATS ELTHAM

The Inglewood cricket team visited Eltham and in a low scoring Thursday competition match was successful by nine runs on the first innings, time being called before Inglewood could i ass Eftham’s total ecore, then having seven wickets in hand. Eltham batted first but could reach only 44. Kerr (11). was the only one to reach double figiires. Lc May, bowling a good length ball, took six wickets for 19 and Allen took’two for 10.

Inglewood replied with 53, of which Allen compiled 24, the only on.e to reach double "figures. Parkin in taking five wickets for IS was easily the most successful of the Eltham bowlers. In the second innings Eltham made 64, Parkiu, Barker and Edwards each reaching double figures, Allen secured most wickets in taking four for 22.
