Maurice MdCarten rides Veilmond in the Derby and W. Cook rides Veilmond in the Cox Plate and the Melbourne Cup. MeCarton rides , Panola in the Cantala Stakes. Glare has been sent out to spell at Raisblu. \ '■ Rational II leaves for Sydney on Sat. urday in charge of Trainer E. J. Murtagh and will race there before returning to the Dominion. Melbourne Cup scratchings are: Demost, Prince Viol and Santorb. Phar Lap strode over nine furlongs on the grass, doing the Ijust six ’in dmin 21<sec, at Moonee Valley to-day. Acceptors for Saturday’s Moonee Valiev Cox Plate are Donald, Moilison, Phar Lap, Tregilla, Veilmond and Fulham. ’
Moonee Valley Cup acceptors total sixteen, including Cimbrian, Taiuho, Lineage, Nadean, The Doctor’s Orders and Shadow- King. There will be nine races at Moonee Valley on Saturday owing to two divisions in both juvenile events. This is a record programme for a big Melbourne meeting.
