The balance sheet showed a satisfactory position.The election of ’officers resulted: Secretary, Mr. \V. Terrill; foreman, held over until the Fire Board meets; trea-
surer, Mr. C. Dimmer; auditor, Mr. George Bird; executive, Mr. C., Tanner, Mr. E. Procter and officers. The usual honoraria were granted to the secretary and- auditor.
The superintendent reported that the following decorations had been awarded during the year and he congratulated the recipients on their long and cffieieiit service: Fireman R. Jenkins, 3-year certificate; Fireman W. Terrill, two year, bar, making ©even years’ service: Fireman Procter, two-year bar, 13 years’ service; Supt. C. Linimer, two year bar,
17 years’ service; Fireman J. Jones, two-year bar, 16 years’ service.

A social organised by St. John’s Church was held on Monday, when Mr. :V; C. Davies gave a talk on Native plants and trees of New Zealand.
