The vessel has been delayed by the stormy weather ami wis not to leave, New Plymouth until midnight, when she was due to sail lor Westport. (U.S.S. Co.). The Hauturu was to leave OnehiiilgH at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon for New Plymouth but was not to cross th> bar until early this morning. (Northern Co.).

RUAHINE AT WELLINGTON.

To complete her Homeward loadinit,. the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruahine arrived ttt Wellington yesterday morning from New Plymouth. She is scheduled to sail from Wellington at daybreak on Sunday for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal.

PORT BRISBANE THIS MORNING.

Collett and Co. advise that the Port Brisbane has again been delayed at Wanganui by heavy weather, and wa» expected to leave there yesterday for New Plymouth to continue her homeward loading. The vessel is due at New Plymouth this morning to lift 12,000 freight carcases of meat, 7000 boxes of butter and 5000 crates of cheese for British' markets.

WAIHEMO THIS MORNING.

The Union Company’s trans-Paeific vessel Waihemo. is due at New Plymouth this morning with 400 tons of Pacific Coast cargo. She will proce.ed to Nelson, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, Westport and Vancouver.

SOLOY DIVERTED.

The Norwegian motor-ship Soldy has been diverted, and was due at Nelson yesterday from Buiibury. She is itbW due at Wellington on Sunday to continue discharge of her cargo of hardwood, and will later proceed to New Plymouth and Auckland to complete discharge.

The Shaw-, Savill a.nd Albion motorship Zealandie has been delayed loading at East Coast ports. Owing to stormy weather the vessel was uriable to work at Waikokopu on Monday. From Waikokopu the vessel Will proceed to Giaborne ahd Auckland to complete, her cafgo. She is now expected at Auckland tb-morrow and next Tuesday she is scheduled io sail for London, via Panama. The vessel carries meat and dairy produce from New Plymouth.

THE CITY OF BARCELONA.

The steamer City of Barcelona, which has berin built by Barclay, Curie and Co., Ltd., Whiteinch, Glasgow, for the Ellentian Lines, Ltd., has carried trtit successful official trials in the Firth of Clyde. Constructed to the highest class of Lloyd’s. Register, she is 425 ft. in length, 58ft. in breadth, 29ft. 9in. in depth and of 5600 tohs gross. The deadweight capacity is 9500 tons. The vessel is a thoroughly modern cargo carrier with large open hatches and long erections, the hatches being served by an ample number of sterim winches and derricks to ensure rapid loading and discharging of cargo. In addition, special arrangements have been made in No. 2 hold, and in the forward well deck for tlie carriage of locomotives and tenders, the loading and stowage arrangements being such that it is possible for locomotives and tenders to .be. deltvcrnd.. in a (completed condition alongside the ship, lifted on board by means of special derrick gear with which the ship’is equipped, and at port of discharge lifted on to the railway track all ready to be driven off under their own steam /
