SEQUEL TO WRESTLING TROUBLE

Wellington, Oct. 20. At a meeting of the finance committee (which is the City Council as a whole) this evening it was decided, on the motion of the Mayor, Mr. G. A. Troup, that Billy Edwards be debarred from wrestling in the Town Hall; that is, if there are any further wrestling matches of a similar nature to the last Tuesday’s one between- Edwards and Alley, the council will bar any future use of the Town Hall, irrespective of ■which body promotes them, and that the council urge- those concerned to bring about the formation of one controlling body only for wrestling.'

Two wrestling matches were held this evening, one at the Town Hall un- ( der the control of the New Zealand Wrestling Association, between George Kotsonaros (Greece) and Scotty McDougall (Scottish Canadian), ending in favour of the Greek by a submission fall in the sixth round ‘by means of a keylock, McDougall being unable to continue the match.

At His Majesty’s Theatre a match took place between Billy Edwards and Pdt McGill, under, the auspices of the Ex-Servicemen’s Union, which ended in a win for McGill. Edwards secured the first fall in he fourth round with a series of head locks. In the sixth round McGill dumped his opponent, who was unable to continue.
