The early Victorian touch: studies showing the Victorian influence on modern dress. In the sketch, a posy of tiny flowers over each ear conceals a clip and helps to keep growing hair in order, while developing the demure effect of the puffed sleeves of the frock and the dainty fan. Victorian ringlets, again held in place by means of clips hidden beneath flower posies, are “featured” in the second sketch, tiny black velvet wrist-bands with similar posles on top completing the piquant theme.
