MAN SHOT IN WINE BAR
CORONER EXCUSES PROPRIETOR.
SYDNEY SENSATION RECALLED.
By Telegraph--Proas Assn.' —Copyright. Rec. 9.45 p.m. Sydney,. Oct. 17. A verdict of justifiable homicide was returned by the coroner after hearing evidence in connection with the shooting of a young man Lancelot Saidler, who was killed in an Elizabeth Street wine bar on September 13. The proprietor of the bar, Ernest A. Good, who had been held on a charge of manslaughter, was promptly discharged. It was alleged Saidler demanded money from the proprietor, who refused. Saidler then threatened him with a razor and in the resultant confusion the fatal shot was fired. Saidler had a bad record. He was vaulting the wine bur counter when Good fired the revolver, as he told the detectives, in selfdefence.
