DAIRY MARKET IMPROVES. BETTER DEMAND IN EVIDENCE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Oct. 10. A rather better demand exists for butter, to-day’s quotations being: Danish, 151 s; choicest salted New Zealand, 116 s to 118 s; exceptionally 12Qs; Australian, 114 s to 116 s; unsalted New Zealand, 148 s; urisalted Australian, 130 s. The cheese market is better. New Zealand white is quoted 76s and coloured 72s to 735. Improvement in the markets for both butter and cheese is indicated by cables received from London by Taranaki firms. Mr. E. Griffiths, Nathan and Co., Dalgety and Co., and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency all report an improvement in the market and a steadier demand at slightly increased prices.
