The Orepuki arrived at New Plymouth from Westport at 6 o’clock this morning with 250 tons of coal for discharge and left again for Onehunga at 5 p.m. (Cock and Co.). The Hauturu is due at New Plymo-itb from Onehunga to-fliorrow morning and returns north on Monday afternoon. The Wclcombc, which arrived at Auckland on Thursday evening With 8200 tons of Nauru phosphates, will not now visit New Plymouth. Her place will be taken by the Barrdale, which will arrive at New Plymouth during the first week in November and will bring a cargo of 3000 tons of Ocean Island phosphates.

RUAHINE IN PORT.

The New Zealand Shipping Company liner Ruahine arrived at New T’lymouth yesterday morning. The vessel is scheduled to clear Wellington on October 28 for Southampton and London, via Panama Canal. The Ruahine will load 5000 freight carcases of meat, 16,000 boxes of butter and 7000 crates of cheese at New Plymouth, and sail on Tuesday for Wellington.

HERTFORD DUE AT NEW PLYMOU TH

The Federal Line steamer Hertford is due at New Plymouth from Liverpool at daybreak to-day to unload cargo from west coast ports of Great Britain. The remainder of the cargo is for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton ami Dunedin from Avorimouth, Newport, Swansea, Glasgow and Liverpool, She sailed from Liverpool on August 16. Boisterous westerly weather prevailed during the first five days at sea. Afterwards the conditions were generally fair throughout the voyage until the last Tuesday evening, when a fresh south-east gale was encountered) but the storm only lasted about ten hours. Captain J. The Union Company's Kaponga, which ■was due at Auckland yesterday from Wellington, is to pay off and lay up for overhaul and survey. The Otaio, built for the New Zealmd Shipping Company- by Messrs. VickersArmstrong, Ltd., Barrow-ih-Furness, was ■ launched on August 26. The Otaio is a twin-screw, Diesel-driven cargo steamer, 12,300 tons dw.., 400 ft. by 67ft. by 46ft.
