THE REGENT.

MATINEE TO-DAY AT 2 P.M. Joan Crawford, whose.first talking picture. “Untamed” proved such a sensation,' will be seen and heard in “Montana Moon,” commencing at The Regent today at 2 and 8 p.m. “Montana Moon” surpasses “Untamed” as an ■ enterlaintainmciit so patrons can look forward to a real entertainment. The storycentres about the daughter of u retired Montana cattleman who comes fromiNcw York to visit her father’s ranch for a vacation. Here she falls in love with a cowboy but the wide difference in their social positions seems an impregnable barrier to their happiness. The ingenious method by which the rancher finally convinces the Eastern girl that she could be contented as his wife is said to give the presentation unusual interest. The production presents something out Of the ordinary in the way of scenic spectacles, many of the sequences being taken on mountain tops overlooking Wide valleys and rivers . and others taken at the foot of precipitous canyons and ravines. The picture is made more attractive by a number of songs, sung by the featured players and by a chorus of 50 cowboys who introduce several of the traditional cowboy ballads and ditties. The supporting cast includes John Mack Brown. Karl Dane, Dorothy Sebastian, Ricardo Cortez, Cliff Edwards and Benny Rubin. The accompanying “short” subjects will include Metrotoiic news, George Washington (songs), “Tough Winter” (Our Gang comedy) and Earl and Biller (songs and guitars;. . ■

The greatest stars of filmland will be featured in the monster musical comedy extravaganza, “Paramount on Parade,” commencing a special season of four matinees and four night at Everybody’s to-day at 2 and 8 p.m. Many of the Scenes are in technicolour, and humour abounds in the production. Just Oite? Girl,” and little Mitzi Green-follows iii. a btirlesque of the same song, afterwhich she gives an imitation of Cheva*. lier’s rendering. From the interest that is being shown it is anticipated that the remarkably. brilliant musical comedy “Going Up” will be favoured with a successful run.
