THE WENDY HUT
OUR GRAND NEW PAINTING COMPETITION Who can paint this pretty picture? You—and you—and you—and you? Of course! AU Tinkites can paint or crayon, given a little encouragement. And the encouragement this time is specially good-— THREE PRIZES: First,' Second and Third. » ' Now, don’t you think the picture is worth painting, and don’t you think the prizes are worth winning? Most certainly you /10l ,So start right away to study the queer old pedlar person the dainty fairyUady, the mischievous elfin man, the comical little mouse, and the funny old frog—to say nothing of the treasures in the pedlar’s tray. When you have studied all these carefully, make up your mind what colours and tints you will use, working out tie scheme as far as possible before you start the actual painting. When you feel you cannot improve upon your chosen colour scheme, set to work with the paint-brushes! Do very beautiful work, children, because I want to see, perfect little masterpieces when I open the mfiilbags and set about the task of judging the entries. ' I almost forget the rules, which you must observe in order to qualify. 1. Your paintings must be in by the 27th October, addressed to Wendy, c/o The Editor, Daily News. New Plymouth. . 2. The name, address and age of the competitor must be <£early stated on the. entry. 3. The signature of a grown-up relative or a teacher is required as proof that the work has been done absolutely alone, unaided by anyone. ' This rule is MOST important. ’ No more rules, children, only lots of fun! Love to you, WENDY.
