EASY VICTORY FOR WAITARA. C. N. KINGSTONE PLAYING. , . / The Waitara Thursday cricket team playing at Waitara yesterday against Eltham won by 77 runs. The match saw the appearance in Thursday cricket of C. N. Kingstone, Taranaki representative for many years, who is now in Waitara. Kingstone played characteristically in each innings for double-figure scores and also was wicket-keeper for his side.

Waitara batted first to score 114, B. Whitmore contributing 31, J. Limmer 17, Kingstone 15 and H. Soffe 12, Parkin was the best of Eltham’s bowlers with four wickets for 29. Eltham compiled 54, of which Arthur, Clare and Walker each, scored 11. O. Skelton had excellent bowling figures with six for 10, B. Whitmore taking one for 5. The margin being insufficient for Eltham to follow on, Waitara played a second innings, which was declared closed with five down for 62. B. Whitmore had top score again with 25, Kingstone 15 and O. Skelton 15 not out being other double-figure scorers. Arthur took two for 16 and Parkin two for 25. Eltham, requiring 123 for a win, was able to reach only 45, Clare with 12 being the only batsman to score over 10. Skelton and Whitmore were unplayable, Skelton dismissing five batsmen for 10 runs and Whitmore two for 1. Waitara takes three points for an outright win.
