GOOD BUTTER-FAT RETURNS.
(To the Editor.)
Sir—ln your issue of to-day appears a report of the excellent butter-fat returns per acre secured by Mr. J. Duggan, of Normanby, for which he deserves our congratulations. Will he, however, for the benefit of your readers kindly tell us what, if any, amount of concentrates he feeds and what ie the cost per cow, and, failing concentrates, to what extent he crops. The rate of top-dressing, 21 cwt. per acre, does not appear to be very “liberal,” especially for some parte of Taranaki, but perhaps it is for his district. Thanking Mr. Duggan in anticipation—l am, etc., J. B. HUNT. Midhirst, October 15, 1930.
