COOLER IMPROVING WEATHER.

Wellington, Last Night.
Th» weather will be cloudy to overcast Over most of the North Island with scattered showers in the Auckland and Hawke’s Bay provinces but improving. Elsewhere it will be fair to fine out there will be some showers later Hi southern Westland and about I'oveaux Strait. Temperatures will be mild at first but gradually becoming cooler tomorrow. A shallow cyclone is crossing the Auckland Peninsula while a slight depression is advancing over the south Tasman Sea. Winds will be variable, with northerlies prevailing at first but backing later to west and south-west. They will be light to moderate in most places but strong at times about Foveaux Strait. Seas will be smooth to moderate except at Foveaux Strait.
