PROGRESS OF BRAZIL REVOLT INSURGENT PORTS CLOSED TRADE CESSATION ASKED By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright. Rec. 7.15 p.m. Rio de Janeiro, Oct. 14. The Brazilian Government claims victories over the revolutionists to the south-west and north of Rio de Janeiro. It declares the revels are becoming discouraged by the repeated reverses. The chief victories listed so far are along the 200-mile Sao Paulo—Parana front, and in the south-western region of the State of Minas Gcraes.

All the ports held by the insurgents have been declared closed by the Government, which has informed world centres, including London, that it is anxious no ships should call there.
