Superintendent L. B. Davis presided over the thirty-sixth annual, meeting ot the Stratford. Volunteer Fite Brigade last night, when the report of the year s operations was reviewed and the ftnancial statement disclosed it sound positi(The report stated that the total of receipts for the year ending September 30 1930, was £B3 4s. 3d. Everything is in first-class order, as is evidenced by the inspecting officer’s monthly report. Satisfaction at the fine attendance record of members ami the general conduct of the brigade was expressed by Superintendent Davis. The financial position was quite satisfactory. ihe buildings that had been totally destroyed by fire had been outside the borough, and he considered that,a number of°good saves had been effected. A good number of visitors and Well-wishers Of the brigade were present. The Mayor, Air. P. Thomson, presided, and the following toast list was honoured —The Ring; Borough Council, proposed by P. T. Aitken—the .Mayor and Councillors N. B. Fletcher, R. R. Tvrer and D. J. Malone. .United Fire Brigadees Association, 1 Mr. E. D. Evans—Supt. Davis; Stratford Volunteer Fite Brigade, Mr. R. R. Lawson; The Visitors, the Ladies and the Press. , During the evening items were given by the orchestra, songs by Messrs. P. T. Aitken, S. Robinson, R. Hook, J. HuddleStone and P, Feffiniell. Mr. S. Dunbar recited. Accompaniments were played by Mr. M. Feek. Trophies won by members of the brigade during the year were presented by the Mayor.
